The tradition of homecoming has its roots in college and university football, starting sometime in the 19th century as an annual tradition for communities to come together in order to celebrate their school.

Albert Gallatin homecoming is a time of tradition that is anticipated by students, faculty and families from the beginning of the school year. The week of homecoming begins with Spirit Week, including themed days and a pep rally. There is a parade that showcases the entire school district, the homecoming football game and the crowning of one lucky high school senior as the Homecoming Queen on Friday. The week ends with a formal Homecoming Dance for the High School Juniors and Seniors.

On October 6th, 2017 Albert Gallatin played Greensburg Salem in the Homecoming Football Game. Prior to the game, there was a parade. The parade route around the school was lined with excited Alumni, families, staff and students prior to the game. The parade included floats adorned with members of school clubs, organizations and sports teams throwing candy for the spectators. The parade also included the members of the Homecoming court chauffeured by their escorts (see slideshow).

At the end of the parade, the parade spectators filed into the stadium stands to watch their AG Colonials take on the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions (see sports for game coverage). During halftime the homecoming court and their escorts were introduced. Miss Jasmine Moser was announced as the homecoming queen for 2017, and presented with crown, sash and flowers. Jasmine was escorted by senior, Hunter Kennison.

Members of the Albert Gallatin High School 2017 homecoming court are (from left): Haleigh Lindsay, Jasmine Moser, Hannah Grimm, Ally Bezjak, Katie Kelley, Bailey Shamrock, Maria Gresh and Samantha Remington.
